Moved a utility's grid planning work off paper and onto AI tools.
What it is
Two internal tools for the team that plans changes to the power grid: an AI agent that reads grid design documents and works out the exact edits to the utility's digital grid model, and a mobile app that replaced a paper-and-Access field verification process.
My role
I designed and built both tools during my internship.
Result
20–30 min
Grid change requests went from 1 to 3 hours down to 20 to 30 minutes, catching about 80% of required changes across 25 test cases. Field verification moved off paper for 100+ projects, saving about 200 hours a year.
